  1. Just found your blog via expat blogger. Great post, now if only I liked to watch Hockey! Bad Canadian, I know.

    • Hi Melissa. Thanks for your comment! I wasn’t a hockey fan myself, but have come to love the comraderie that comes with being a Canadian abroad and watching a game. I had to force myself to watch game after game, until I finally understood what “icing” is…I still don’t really get it, but I don’t really understand soccer much either. Actually, I’m teaching myself to love American football as well – after reading a book called “Get Your Own Damn Beer, I’m Watching the Game!” It’s funny. Sports are so silly, but people really, really, really care about them. And one way to get to know people better, in all the places you live or travel, is to sit down in a local pub, grab a pint and watch a game. Whether it be hockey, or soccer (aka “football”) or football or…dare I say it…cricket! That’s next on my list of sports to figure out. If I don’t die of boredom first…

I’ll follow your blog now as well. Happy writing!

  2. I am a Canadian living in London looking for a place to watch the game tonight in Central London – any ideas?

  3. Hi Rachel
