Hi Jean-Guy,

The single-currency we have is primarily due to two reasons:

1) About 80% of our customers are ordering from the US with US credit cards. Visa/MC charge foreign transaction fees (1-2%) plus exchange rates that add another 2-3% to the total price. This was the cause of numerous customer complaints. Nobody likes to see that the price they paid on the invoice is not the same that appears on their credit card bill.

2) Our website transaction system does not allow true multi-currency processing. This is something that is slated for a future update to the software.

We also maintain a sister-site Canada Grocer, which bills in Canadian Dollars and offers all the same products and pricing as Canada Only.
It's address is at http://www.canadagrocer.ca

Thanks for your comment. It is good to know what areas we can improve upon.

You know, I have to say Jason, it is a supreme insult (and entirely ludicrous) that your prices are "in USD only" on a site called "canadaonly" that advertises itself as "a company that ships Canadian food, snacks, and other sundries to Canadians living abroad."

Is the "prices in USD only" an error - or a bad joke??? Or is the Canadian dollar not strong enough for you?

Hi Victoria,

I hope you won't mind adding this to your blog.

We are a company that ships Canadian food, snacks, and other sundries to Canadians living abroad.

We got the idea from my own experiences living in the UK and the Caribbean. Nothing like trying to shop in the "main grocery store" in Antigua and seeing nothing but US cereal and 80% no-name or scary looking brands to want for some REAL Shreddies or Tim Horton's coffee!

We have a coupon for Canadian Expats living in the UK also. Type in "canuckintheuk" as a coupon upon checkout and you'll get $3 off your order.

Feel free to e-mail me directly if you have any questions about shipping to the UK.

All the Best,
Jason Bolduc

Hey there! I have a section in my blog dedicated to educating Americans in the ways of the British, heh.
http://blogmella.wordpress.com/brits-and-yanks/

There is a link to some American/Cockney translations that you might find very relevant. :D

If you want to pimp me and link to any of it, I'd be more than happy.

Hi Victoria,

I love your blog. Not to make you homesick, thought I don't think that's possible, I wanted to let you know about these videos the Canadian Tourism Commission has produced about life in Canada. Perhaps your students, readers or just yourself may find them interesting.

You can find them all here: http://www.youtube.com/canadiantourism

Let me know what you think. We invite you to pass them along to anyone who may be interested or embed one to your blog.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Cameron
